No one has ever been left with a hungry feeling!!

Maybe you have some difficulties in finding the “Waldhof” but it is no Mission: Impossible. As you can see the restaurant is full of satisfied guests - and the dinner time is about to come. Lunch time is just over.

You can reach the “Waldhof” from the Zschopautal or from the Federal road B 95 or from the town of Weisbach or Venusberg.

The people don’t just come for the excellent food but also to have a gorgeous hiking tour to get to know some good stuff about country and inhabitants as well as about history.

The city of Venusberg is famous for its spinning industry. You may not know that the town once was called “Fenchpergk” in times of the Great German Peasant War and you even have been able to find fennel around the mountain slopes.

Down in the Zschopautal you have a wonderful view over the valley and the river Willisch’s mouth into the river Zschopau from the 80 m high hill Affenstein.

It is said that the city of Weisbach got its name from the near stream which itself was a left affluent of the river Willisch. One inhabitant of Weisbach began to weave linen in 1701; ninety years later the Great Peasant War started.

Plan a whole day if you wish to see everything around but if you come twice or more often you absolutely always will get new information from around the area, the houses and even from the river Willisch. That river flows down the valley following the street and did you know that the Willisch is the largest water on the left side of the river Zschopau.

That river flows down the valley following the street and did you know that the Willisch is the largest water on the left side of the river Zschopau. The stream Willisch is about 18 km long and comes from the cities of Ehrenfriedersdorf as well as from Jahnsbach where the stream has been doubled. You might be astonished about the amount of water floating downhill.

Originally, the river had been named “Wolfsbach” (= wolf stream) but the people had agreed to call it Willisch in the 16th century. Maybe there had been no more wolves around…

The “Waldhof” is really a yard in the woods. You can take beautiful photographs in summer time and in winter time you have icicles hanging off the roof.

The interior of the “Waldhof” is kind of mountain atmosphere but you please do not think that it suits generally for every mountain area or people living around here.

Nobody has to be afraid of anything any longer. In former times the feudals were haunted but only in case somebody had died. Now there are no feudal people and so there are no haunted stories.

If you come to visit us you will be welcomed heartly and friendly!

As we have got much to do at the weekends we take a day off before and after the weekend: it is the Thursday and the Monday we take to have a rest. It’s a pity that even the nicest hiking tour must come to an end.
